Bahamian cuisine includes local fish, shellfish, lobster, crab, and conch, as well as tropical fruits, rice, pigeon peas, potatoes, and pork. Conch is a large tropical mollusk with firm, white meat and the national dish of the Bahamas, along with rice and peas. Common recipe seasonings for Bahamian dishes include hot peppers, lime, tomatoes, onions, garlic, rum, and coconut.

Side dishes can include grits, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, boiled vegetables, and johnnycake. More traditional Caribbean side dishes include salt pork, pigeon peas and rice and johnny cake. Bahamian cuisine incorporates many tropical fruits, such as guavas, papaya, pineapples, passion fruit, and mangoes.

Fruit juices and coconut water are common beverages. Switcha is a "lemonade" made with native limes. Goombay Punch is a commercial, highly sweetened soft drink of the islands. Triple B is a non-alcoholic malt drink made by the Bahamian Brewery. Rum, beer and Nassau Royale liqueur are popular alcoholic drinks. Kalik is a leading local Bahamian beer.
