Lives Lived

Leo Savola (1915 - 1996) was born and raised in Lutcher, St. James Parish, Louisiana. He followed his father into the logging industry first in Louisiana and then in Florida. He came to work at Pine Ridge, Grand Bahama, in March 1946 after the lumber business he was working for closed due to loss of staff to the efforts of World War II. Savola became the accountant for the Abaco Lumber Company.
